My accident a few days ago could have been a lot worse. As I said, I’ve always though of myself as quite lucky, an it’s not the first time I’ve ‘got away with it’ when things could have gone seriously wrong.
Hence, I feel lucky to be alive.
But so are you. Because, if you’re reading this we can at least be sure you’re still physically and mentally functional.
And those are pretty much essential if you want to have any effect on the world that sustains you – even if it also challenges and frustrates you at the same time.
Alive and well enough is good enough. The rest is up to you, as long as you’re also brave and bright enough. Oh, and persistent and wise.
Wise people don’t know it all, try to do it all or worry too much what people think of them.
Wise business owners take advice, hire help and do whatever is legal and decent to help their businesses succeed. And they stick at it.
You know where this is going, don’t you? You don’t have to be a genius, just bright enough. You don’t have to be heroic, just brave enough. And you don’t have to have all the answers. You just have to know who to ask.
So, do you feel lucky?
PS. 2014 will get here in its own good time. Waiting for it to arrive before you do what needs doing just means you’ll be two weeks behind where you could be on January 1st.
